Wayne started his career out of college working for an international freight company located in McMinnville, Oregon, as a flight operations manager. After 5 years in the industry he moved on to other opportunities that would expand on his experience and love for architecture. The next 6 years included undergraduate school at the University of Utah and a Masters of Architecture at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. After working with several firms getting the necessary experience he organized Johnson + Associates Architects with full confidence, that would combine his love for design, business, and, when possible, the aviation market. After almost 24 years in architecture many stories have been created, especially with the team he works with day to day. Everyday is an adventure and a joy. Its not work when you enjoy what you do. Its joy when you create physical memories that will last for generations.

Architects and Production
Our firm retains experienced architects, consultants and production help around the country enabling the firm to quickly and efficiently manage any project where ever they are.
Design, Function and Efficiency.
From project inception we consider all aspects of the project, including aesthetics. Layout and design of the facility will have a deep impact on the functionality and efficiency of the building.
Quality, Cost Control, and Project Schedule.
With any project, we are always aware of maintaining cost during the design process. In addition, we prioritize the importance of a project schedule, deliverable deadlines and stakeholder review. Internal cost control measures and an integrated design approach allows us to provide quality projects that are free from major cost incurrence during construction.
Quality is ensured by regular communication among all parties. JAA will serve as the point of contact between all consultants and owner representatives and make sure the design process is on task.
At milestones in the design process we plan for document review and stakeholder meetings, providing thorough documentation of comments and outcomes from those transactions.
Promoting sustainable practice within our work has a great benefit to the community, both local and at large. Our dedication to sustainable design is exemplified by our LEED projects. We have guided multiple projects through LEED accreditation, including the first LEED platinum certified project in the state of Tennessee. As LEED professionals, we will work with your team to determine sustainable practices that are practical and beneficial for incorporation into your project.
During design, JAA can offer an incredible glimpse into how the space will look and feel. Through the use of advanced video rendering and animation technology we can create visually enhanced video animations, in an effort to better convey our design ideas. These animations provide a tool for us to present our design concepts to you, allowing you to have a better understanding of how the building will look and a chance to experience the space. Our animations provide a better understanding of how the spatial characteristics early in the process, so if there are desired changes, they can easily be addressed.
